Available Funds vs Restricted Funds Explained

An 888 Poker Canada account balance is split into two parts: Available Funds and Restricted Funds. Available Funds are the money a player has deposited directly, along with any winnings from that money and any bonus funds that have already cleared their requirements; this portion can be withdrawn at any time. Restricted Funds, on the other hand, are bonus money that hasn’t yet met its wagering or points requirement, along with any winnings tied to it. When a player has both types in their account, wagers draw from Available Funds first, and only move to Restricted Funds once the Available balance reaches zero.
888 Poker Bonus Points and Withdrawal Requirements
On the poker side specifically, bonuses are unlocked through Bonus Points rather than a standard wagering multiplier. Players earn 2 Bonus Points for every CAD 1 of contributed rake in ring games, 2 Bonus Points for every CAD 1 spent on tournament fees, and 1 Bonus Point for every CAD 10 wagered on casino games from a poker account. To withdraw an immediate bonus and any winnings tied to it, a player needs to collect 2.5 Bonus Points for every dollar of the bonus received – meaning a $10 bonus requires 25 Bonus Points before it becomes withdrawable. The same 2.5-point ratio applies to pending bonuses once the underlying requirement has been completed.
Bonus Expiry and Time Limits

Timing matters just as much as the amount of a bonus. Unless a specific promotion states otherwise, all bonuses and any winnings connected to them expire within 30 days of being granted, so the wagering or points requirement has to be finished inside that window or the bonus is forfeited. Tournament Tickets carry their own separate expiry date and are cancelled once that date passes or once the related promotion ends, whichever happens first. On top of bonus-specific expiry, any 888poker Club Points or Bonus Points sitting untouched on an inactive account are forfeited if there’s no login for 90 consecutive days, so staying active protects points already earned.
One Account Per Household in Canada
888’s promotions are generally open to all members, but they’re limited to one player per household, even where more than one computer, tablet or phone is used at the same address in Canada. Identity for this purpose can be checked using a combination of name, mailing address, email, IP address, payment card details or device information. This rule exists to keep welcome and reload offers fair, preventing the same household from claiming a single promotion multiple times under separate accounts.
Tournament Tickets and Their Restrictions
Tournament Tickets are a specific type of bonus used strictly for entry into selected poker tournaments chosen by 888. A ticket’s value must match the buy-in of the tournament it’s used for, and it cannot be used to re-buy or add on chips mid-tournament, nor can it be applied to Progressive Knockout events. Tickets also can’t be exchanged for cash, combined into a higher-value ticket, or transferred to another player, and each one carries its own expiry date tied to the promotion that issued it.
Withdrawals and Forfeited Restricted Funds
Requesting a withdrawal has a direct effect on any bonus funds still in progress. If a player submits a withdrawal request while Restricted Funds remain unconverted, those Restricted Funds – along with related winnings, tickets and vouchers – are forfeited at that point. Available Funds, by contrast, can be withdrawn freely at any time under the site’s standard Withdrawal Policy, since that portion of the balance has already cleared any bonus conditions attached to it.
